Sons Succeed Father at Mid-West Terminal Warehouse For Immediate Release: January 1, 2003 (Kansas City, MO) Mr. C. Rodney, "Rod" LaMothe, President and Chairman of the Board of Mid-West Terminal Warehouse Company and Industrial Park Realty announced effective January 1, 2003 that son, Charles J. "Joe" LaMothe would take over the reins of the Presidency of Mid-West Terminal Warehouse, and that son David R. LaMothe would become Vice President and General Counsel; also David would head Industrial Park Realty as President. Both men are well groomed for these positions, having spent their summer vacations during their school years working as stevedores, forklift operators, and order checkers; even sweeping the floors. After their college days, they started assuming the responsibilities of management that has led to these promotions by their father, who plans to remain as Chairman of the Board. Rod, now 66, plans to be less active in both companies and will remain on as Chairman of the Board. He started with Mid-West Terminal Warehouse Company in 1962, and has seen it grow through his leadership and efforts and those of his associates from 90,000 square feet of space to over 2.5 million, with buildings in Executive Park, Paseo Industrial Park, Fairfax and in an operation as a Barge Terminal Operator since his starting years. Rod LaMothe is active, participating in civic and community affairs. He is a past President of the Northeast Industrial Association, the Kansas City Industrial Council (of which he is a founding member), the Mid-America Warehouse Association, the American Warehouse Association, and the International Federation of Public Warehouses. He also is active in the American Royal and is a booster of the Chiefs. Both Joe and David are also active in civic organizations. Joe is presently Secretary of the Northeast Industrial Association, active in the Kansas City, Missouri Police Athletic League serving on its Board of Directors, and is a past president of the Kansas City Transportation Association. David is on the Board of Directors of the Crime Stoppers. Both are past presidents of the Mid-America Warehouse Association, and active in the various distribution and warehousing organizations, including the International Warehouse Logistics Association. ----------
